About USSSA

Welcome to the USSSA Illinois & Wisconsin State Website

Thank you for your interest in USSSA Baseball. USSSA Baseball has nationally gained positive recognition due to the philosophy “MORE KIDS PLAYING MORE BASEBALL.” Adhering to the philosophy USSSA has designed four different classifications of play as well as a specialty program for “Recreation & Drafted Leagues.” This is how USSSA has effectively created opportunities for more kids to play baseball competitively at their level. In November 1996, USSSA founded a highly anticipated and much needed program, USSSA Baseball. It registered over 1,000 teams in its inaugural season in 1997. The program also offered refreshing alternatives to the world of youth baseball. In November 1997, USSSA reorganized to become the United States Specialty Sports Association, a multi-sport organization. Some of the divisions of USSSA include baseball, basketball, softball, flag football, softball, volleyball, and more. Today USSSA is the largest multi-sport association in the world with over 4 million members.

In the 2017 season, USSSA Baseball registered over 60,000 teams!
By sanctioning a team, organization or league with USSSA that program will be entitled to receive All-Star Game Nominations, State tournament Berths, and World Series Berths. USSSA Baseball classification system helps fairly allow teams to participate in a competitive tournament each weekend, with all teams, regardless of skill, the ability to take home a trophy on any weekend. Additional benefits, from the administration side, are the amenities that USSSA has to offer. Teams can find reasonably priced insurance for their teams, All-Star Weekends for Top Performers, and different opportunities and financial gains generated by hosting USSSA tournaments. Communities have seen tremendous increase in economic impact when USSSA events have been brought forth. The philosophy of USSSA Baseball is simple. We strive to provide superior administration of a quality program that enables more kids more opportunities to play baseball at their skill level and have fun.

Our Philosophy

The primary focus of USSSA Baseball is the development of programs that allow teams of all skill levels to compete against one another. USSSA believes the overall development of all players can be enhanced by the experience and fun of national tournament play. Until now the majority of players were denied this opportunity because of their skill level. USSSA Baseball offers programs for four levels of play. Major and AAA programs are national programs that culminate in a World Series. The AA program is a regional program ran by the participating states that culminates at a National tournament. The A level is for recreational teams and is at a state level only.
